The importance of one vote
I had just arrived at the Obama Office, it was a little after 9:00. No one was at the front desk yet, but I signed in and put my laptop down. In walks a nice looking young man about 25. He looked lost so I said "May I help you with something"? And with a wavering voice said "I want to vote, I just want to vote so bad" and started crying. And I started crying and put my arms around him. Then my left brain kicks in and I ask him if he is registered. He said he didn't know, when he moved to Allentown a few years ago he thought he had transferred, but when something came in the mail he was so fed up with Washington he just threw it away. I suggested he could find out on Votespa.com, but still really shook up, he said "can you do it for me"? So I said, come on, Jamie (one of the paid staff) is online and will look it up. Five minutes later.....YES! he was still on the voter list. I gave him the address of his polling place and man was he one happy camper! He is shaking hands and thanking us all like we had just saved his life. Emotions are truly running high this year, I am predicting a massive turnout like we have never before seen, confusion at the polls and a landslide victory for Obama.

Whew! I'm so glad he's still registered to vote. Saw on news this a.m. folks standing in line in FL to vote early,... door wasn't going to open until 10 a.m. and the news said some had been there since 6:15 a.m.
