Jimmy & Vaughn and their Gay Campground

Stayed two days at Southern Comfort Campground in Cross City Florida. Their website had rainbow flag and costume themed weekend events....that's what clued me in. Sure enough, these two guys from NY bought this ole rundown campground along US19 just four months ago and are busy fixing it up. Lots of their friends are here (and queer) and everyone is very friendly. Of course there were a number of southern rednecks living here that just up and left, but a lot stayed too, so there is quite a variety of folks. Rent is wicked cheap, like $200/mo, but no amenities to speak of. Although they are working on that and a pool will be installed by summer. Too close to the highway, no wifi and not enough to do to make me stay, but great place for a visit.
