I went to The Madbrook commune 40th reunion party on Saturday and it was just like it used to be 40 years ago, minus those who have passed. A blues band, ladies in long skirts dancing by themselves, tons of homemade dishes on long tables. It was rainy, windy and cold (on the 4th of July!), but no one complained, or even noticed. We danced in the rain or under the huge tent. Wonderful to see so many of my old old friends. Lots of Vermont Tea being passed around, at one point I am sharing with these two handsome men in there early 30's and realized that I had once changed their diapers! Oh, the young people! So many offspring there. Plus their offspring!! Must of been over 100 people. The commune is still going strong, it was a neighbor to the one I used belonged to. I had so much fun. I parked my rig at Laura's at the bottom of the hill, about 3 miles and hitched rides up and back, most people at the party had to go right by so it was a cinch. I tired early (not as young as I used to be), the party started at 3, so got a ride "home" around 8 and slept in Laura's drive.
I went up the next morning to help with the clean up, seems the fun went on until 3AM.

ahhhh... like the old days at Tunbridge Fair, eh? Fun lasting until the wee hours, but now, like you, I'm no longer a night owl. Glad you had a wonderful time. We still need to meetup at some time. Will you be going to Alburgh bluegrass festival?
