Ft. Wayne Indiana Museum of African American History

I arrived at this turn of the century beautiful wood house where the collection is housed around 1:00 only to find that it was just about to close (I failed to take note of the hours). As I was about to leave the lady asked me if I could come back another time, and as my schedule didn't allow it, I said no. Then she asked me where I was from and I said Vermont, just passing through. She said wait a minute, I will get someone to give you a quick walk through as she didn't want me to miss it. So sweet. WELL.....I got a personally guided tour by the President of the Association! He explained every room, many of the artifacts, much of the history. It was fascinating and fantastic! And then as I was getting ready to leave, the staff started asking me questions and were truly amazed at my RVing story. What fun. Everyone learned something.

How nice that there are people who are kind and gracious. Too often it's the opposite.
