My Night on the Road
I left Bill's in the wee hours of the morning, 6 or 7, and drove West until I got tired. Somewhere outside Mobile Alabama. So I pulled into a rest area on Interstate 10 and asked the security guard (a man in his 80's I do believe, sure hope nothing too serious happens on his shift) if overnight parking is allowed. He said not officially, but they would rather people not drive when they are tired and directed me as to where to park. I had my supper, watched a movie, read the paper and fell asleep around 8 or 9. When I woke up it was 3 in the morning so I continued West, I love to drive at that time, not so much traffic. Stopped and had breakfast. Then an odd thing happened about an hour later, I got sleepy! So pulled into the next rest area, climbed into bed clothes and all and slept for another couple hours. Damn but I love having my home with me! Now I am just West of Lafayette, LA at a small campground just off I10, their ad said they had a hot tub, but it is on the fritz darnit. Oh well, for $15 the hot shower sure felt good. Tomorrow I will be in TX, one night at a rest area and then unto this fancy KOA (indoor heated pool & hot tub) for a gathering of RVing Women.
